Stability of solutions to Hamiltonian PDEs via polynomials
Olga Trichtchenko (Western University Canada)
Abstract: In this talk, we will show how to reduce the problem of analysing stability of solutions to nonlinear Hamiltonian PDEs, to that of finding roots of polynomials. Using the Kawahara equation as an example, it will be shown how to obtain explicit expressions for regions of stability for different parameters in the equation. Finally, we will illustrate how this can approach can easily be extended to more general PDEs.
