On Knotoids and Applications

Abstract: Abstract: The theory of knotoids, introduced by Turaev in 2011, extends classical knot theory. In this talk we review some aspects of the theory of knotoids and present some recent developments with a focus on singular knotoids. We also discuss applications in the topological study of proteins.
