Coherent configurations and quantum orbital algebras

Abstract: Coherent configurations were first introduced by D. Higman in an attempt to "do group theory without groups." We will discuss the definition of coherent configurations and the related concept of coherent algebras, and we will show how the theory can be extended to study quantum automorphism groups of graphs.
