Fri Sep 19, 14:00-15:00 (3 months ago)

Abstract: I will review the notion of frozen singularities in compactifications of string and M-theory and their role in geometric engineering as well as in the Swampland program. Then I will discuss some recent progress in understanding their generalized symmetries, focusing on the specific case of M-theory compactifications to 7d.
