Linnik's Dispersion Method (series unlisted)

Abstract: After applying Harman's sieve, Maynard reduces his four key propositions (Props 7.1-7.4) to estimates involving exponential sums. The final step of this reduction is based on Linnik's dispersion method. In this talk, I will introduce the dispersion method and demonstrate its use in the work of Bombieri-Friedlander-Iwaniec and Maynard.
