Abstract: I will give an overview on the derived invariance problem: how much of the geometry of a smooth complex projective variety is determined by its bounded derived category? I will recall the main theorems and conjectures of this area. Finally, I will present the results of a joint work in progress with L. Lombardi and G. Pareschi, involving the Albanese morphism.
