Abstract: In 1994, Guan published a series of papers constructing non-Kähler holomorphic symplectic manifolds, challenging a conjecture by Todorov. These examples, called now BG manifolds were given a more transparent presentation by Bogomolov in 96 which emphasizes the analogy with Kodaira-Thurston example of non-Kähler symplectic surfaces. We will discuss some important properties of BG manifolds: the deformation theory which is quite similar to that of hyperkahler case, algebraic reduction and submanifolds.
