Abstract: This talk is the first of a series of talks on the topics of statistical learning, machine learning, and similar topics. We follow the book "An introduction to statistical learning with applications in Python". In this talk, I will provide an overview over the series of talks to come and will capture some of the topics from chapter 1 and 2.
