Program

Free boundary problems are a challenging area with many applications to real life phenomena. In this course, we will review some of their applications to fluid dynamics and biology. The main topics we are going to discuss are the following:

1. Introduction to free boundary problems in fluid dynamics: the case of the vortex patch.

2. The water waves problem: well-posedness and asymptotic models.

3. The Muskat problem: well-posedness and asymptotic models.

4. Free boundary problems in tumor growth.
