He is particularly known for fundamental results on the eigenvalues and inverti bility of random matrices\, including influential work on universality and the circular law. In this talk\, he will give an accessible overview of s ome current directions in random matrix theory. He will discuss the remark able phenomenon that many spectral properties of large random matrices are largely independent of the precise distribution of their entries. The tal k will highlight some of the recent developments\, open questions\, and co nnections of the subject with combinatorics\, probability\, statistics\, a nd data science. See the blog announcement https://functor.network/user/33 33/entry/2016 of this talk for more details.\n\nLink to join: At the sched uled time\, joint the talk here: https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/36436927 76262551?p=SVjjcalObggCW5eOX4 No registration required.\n\nAlternatively\, you can open Teams -> Calendar -> Meet now -> Join with an ID\, and then enter Meeting ID: 364 369 277 626 255 1 and Passcode: ma24CU6b\n LOCATION:https://researchseminars.org/talk/th21/11/ URL:https://teams.microsoft.com/meet/3643692776262551?p=SVjjcalObggCW5eOX4 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
