DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/PSMQFT/17/">
The Yang–Mills measure in two dimensions.</a>\nby Elias Nohra (Sorbonne
University) as part of Probability\, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Fie
lds\n\nLecture held in 133.\n\nAbstract\nYang–Mills theory is a quantum
field theory that describes interaction be-\ntween elementary particles us
ing path integrals. In the case of a spacetime of dimension 3\nor higher\,
the rigorous construction of these integrals remains a central open probl
em in\nmathematics. However\, the case of dimension 2 has been studied suc
 cessfully by several\nauthors.\nIn this talk\, I will start with a brief i
ntroduction to Yang–Mills theory\, explain the\nspecificity of the two d
imensional case\, and present a recent contribution to the study\nof the t
wo dimensional Yang–Mills measure on compact surfaces in collaboration w
 ith\nNguyen Viet Dang (IRMA\, Strasbourg).\n
