Mathematics of molecular structures and dynamics
Sohei Ashida (Gakushuin University)
Abstract: I will talk about mathematically rigorous results concerned with studies of molecules. The subject corresponds to N-body problems of the Schrödinger equation from the standpoint of mathematics. First, we will consider the spectrum and long-time asymptotic behaviors, focusing on scattering matrices of N-body Schrödinger equation. Next we will consider quantitative studies based on the Born-Oppenheimer approximation. Results related to estimates of electronic energy levels such as the upper bound of electronic density and results concerned with the Hartree-Fock equation will be presented.
