DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/voganish/17/
">Emerton’s Functor of Ordinary Parts</a>\nby Sarah Meier (Bielefeld Uni
versity) as part of Canadian Rockies Representation Theory\n\nLecture held
in Zoom and Clifton's office.\n\nAbstract\nEmerton's Ordinary Parts funct
or $Ord$ plays an important role in the theory of mod $p$ representations
of $p$-adic reductive groups.\nThe right derived functors of $Ord$ are con
jectured by Emerton to be given in terms of group cohomology.\nIn this tal
k I will discuss a proof of a variant of this conjecture. A key step in th
is proof is a comparison between certain compact and parabolic inductions
which I will explain for an example. \nThis is based on joint work with Ma
 nuel Hoff and Michael Spieß.\n
