adiobiology research at SNRSI – Elucidating mechanisms of radioadaptive
effects and Enhancement of protocols for biodosimetry</a>\nby Prof Christe
lle Chua En Lin (Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute - Nationa
l University of Singapore) as part of RadBio Seminars\n\n\nAbstract\nThe S
ingapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute (SNRSI) at the National Uni
versity of Singapore serves as a focal point for developing nuclear scienc
e and safety capabilities\, including research\, training\, and policy sup
port. The radiobiology department in SNRSI seeks to contribute to the ongo
ing research\, in both understanding the effects of radiation\, especially
long term and/or low dose rate exposure\, and shaping the protocols for e
mergency response. Dr Christelle Chua\, senior research scientist at SNRSI
\, will share her lab’s research in elucidating radioadaptive effects an
d inter-individual radiosensitivity\, using their chronic low dose irradia
tion and organ-on-a-chip setups. Complementing the work into mechanistic i
nsight\, the lab also looks at developing their cytogenetic biodosimetry c
apabilities\, in particular with the dicentric chromosome assay. Ongoing w
ork aims to reduce hands-on operator time and dependence on commercial rea
 gents and software.\n
