 erform an operation known as “anyon condensation.” This term is mislea
 ding. Two\nmore appropriate terms for this operation are “gauging a one-
 form symmetry” or “anyon\nproliferation.” Interestingly\, these two 
 terms are similar\, but not identical. We will clarify\nthese different no
 tions and use this insight to analyze various phase transitions out of a\n
 given topological order.\n
