 tal quasi-equivalence principle for classical and modified Engel expansion
 s. We identify a class of sets for which the projector from the classical 
 Engel expansion into its modified version preserves their Hausdorff dimens
 ion. The obtained results provide a conceptual explanation for some parall
 els between the fractal theories of these expansions and the Ostrogradsky
 –Sierpiński–Pierce expansions. We also present several new fractal pr
 operties that demonstrate the effectiveness of this principle.\n
