 chains. We will exhibit classical examples of card shuffles and use them t
 o introduce some interesting particle systems. Furthermore\, we will show 
 some recent results and some open problems which may be of interest not on
 ly for probability theory researchers but also for the ones who work with 
 analysis\, pdes or spectral graph theory.\n
