DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/WCS/13/">Hom
eomorphs</a>\nby Bhargav Narayanan (Rutgers) as part of Warwick Combinator
ics Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nNati Linial asked the following basic problem i
 n 2006: Given a $k$-dimensional simplicial complex $S$\, how many facets c
an a $k$-complex on $n$ vertices have if it contains no topological copy o
f $S$? This is a beautiful and natural question\, but results in low dimen
sions apart ($k\\le 2$)\, very little was previously known. In this talk\,
I’ll provide an answer in all dimensions and take the scenic route to t
he answer\, surveying many natural problems about simplicial complexes alo
 ng the way.\n
