DESCRIPTION:Title: On
the strong cosmic censorship conjecture\nby Jan Sbierski (University
of Edinburgh) as part of Virtual Maxwell Analysis Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nT
he strong cosmic censorship conjecture roughly states that Einstein’s th
eory of general relativity is generically a deterministic theory. I will s
tart out this talk by giving a non-technical introduction to this conjectu
re restricted to rotating black holes. After motivating the mathematical f
ormulation of the strong cosmic censorship conjecture I will proceed to ou
tline the current state of it and then conclude by presenting forthcoming
work of mine showing the linear instability of the Cauchy horizon inside r
otating black holes.\n
