  the variables in all possible ways generates an ideal\, which we call a p
 rincipal symmetric ideal. What can we say about the Betti numbers of a pri
 ncipal symmetric ideal? I will give a general answer in this talk. This is
  a joint work with Megumi Harada and Liana Sega.\n
