">Entanglement Entropy in String Compactifications</a>\nby Upamanyu Moitra
(ICTP) as part of Theoretical Physics Seminars (Kentucky)\n\nLecture held
in CP 303.\n\nAbstract\nThe finiteness of entanglement entropy in string
theory has crucial implications for the information paradox\, quantum grav
ity\, and holography. In my talk\, I will describe the recent progress mad
e on establishing this finiteness. I will describe the orbifold constructi
on appropriate for analyzing entanglement in string theory\, the tachyonic
divergences that one encounters and how we get a finite and calculable an
swer for the entanglement entropy\, including ten-dimensional string theor
y and compactification to lower dimensions. (Based on works in collaborati
 on with Atish Dabholkar)\n
