DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/SymSem/36/">
Higher categorical symmetries and gauging on the lattice</a>\nby Clement D
elcamp (Ghent) as part of Symmetry Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nHigher categoric
al symmetries have received widespread attention in recent years. Though e
xotic\, such generalised symmetries have been shown to naturally arise as
dual symmetries upon gauging invertible symmetries. Given an arbitrary two
-dimensional lattice model with an ordinary symmetry\, I will present an a
pproach to perform the (twisted) gauging of any of its sub-symmetries and
study the resulting symmetry structure. Specialising to certain finite gro
up generalisations of the (2+1)d transverse-field Ising model\, I will exp
licitly construct lattice symmetry operators organised into fusion 2-categ
ories of higher representations of higher groups.\n
