  describe how a presence of a mixed anomaly between a global symmetry and 
 gravity can be traded off for non-invertibility of the charge operators. S
 pecifically\, I will consider the cases of U(1) and Z4 symmetries (which i
 nclude fermion parity) in 4d. I will also comment on the relevance for the
  Standard Model. The talk is based on a joint work with Juven Wang.\n
