">Replica wormholes and the black hole information paradox</a>\nby Tom Har
tman (Resultados de la búsqueda Resultados web Cornell University) as pa
rt of Rencontres Théoriciennes\n\nLecture held in Institut Henri Poincar
é\, Room 314 unless specified otherwise.\n\nAbstract\nI will review recen
t progress on the black hole information puzzle involving the appearance o
f "islands" in the black hole interior. The islands arise from the replica
trick used to calculate the entropy of Hawking radiation. This entropy re
ceives large non-perturbative corrections from gravitational instantons ca
lled replica wormholes\, which connect multiple copies of the black hole t
hrough the interiors. In several toy models where these contributions can
be calculated explicitly\, the resulting entropy is consistent with unitar
 y black hole evaporation.\n
