  Strings\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will discuss confined strings in 
 a gapless four-dimensional theory\, focusing on finite-tension string solu
 tions of the CP1 non-linear sigma model. I will analyze quantum fluctuatio
 ns around these configurations\, derive the corresponding spectrum\, and s
 tudy its properties. I will then show how one can use these results to com
 pute various observables like the quantum corrections to the ground-state 
 energy and the effective string width. Through the discussion\, I will com
 pare these findings with the usual predictions of effective string theory.
