 Strings\n\n\nAbstract\nThis talk will present the systematic exploration o
 f quantum phases of matter with generalized (categorical) symmetries\, by 
 means of the "Symmetry Topological Field Theory" (SymTFT). After introduci
 ng the general framework\, I will discuss new examples of phases with cate
 gorical symmetries\, including intrinsically gapless phases (which cannot 
 be deformed to gapped phases with analogous symmetry properties) and gappe
 d phases in which the symmetry broken vacua carry distinct kinds of topolo
 gical order. Beyond pure state phases\, I will also illustrate how to clas
 sify mixed-state gapped phases with non-invertible symmetries using the Sy
 mTFT.\n
