 Despite recent progress\, a complete formulation of a holographic correspo
 ndence for flat spacetimes remains elusive.\n\nAny viable formulation shou
 ld be based on a correspondence between bulk and boundary states built upo
 n the equivalence of unitary irreducible representations (UIRs) of the asy
 mptotic symmetry group of flat spacetimes\, the BMS group.\n\nAfter an ext
 ended review on flat space holography\, I will present recent new results 
 that provide explicit wavefunctions for the UIRs of the BMS group (the so-
 called BMS particles). I will outline prospects for defining an S-matrix f
 or BMS states that is free from infrared divergences.\n
