Effective Field Theory for Compact Object Evolution in Newtonian Non-Relat
ivistic General Relativity</a>\nby Irvin Martínez (University of Cape Tow
 n) as part of QGaSLAB Seminar Series\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, we revi
ew some of the tools to model compact objects with effective field theory
to study their numerical evolution in the late inspiral before merging or
disrupting. We show that by adding Newtonian effects such as spin\, tidal
and dissipative effects in addition to gravitational wave radiation\, the
contribution to the phase evolution in the gravitational waveform is signi
ficant in order to match the coefficients of the theory from gravitationa
l wave observations and constrain fundamental physics.\n
