DESCRIPTION:Title: Th
e fast conformal bootstrap and sphere packing in high dimensions\nby A
mirhossein Tajdini (UCSB) as part of Princeton HET seminar\n\n\nAbstract\n
The conformal bootstrap program seeks to map the space of possible conform
al field theories and to identify those on the boundary of theory space. I
n this talk\, I will discuss a numerical method that is applicable to cert
ain bootstrap problems\, such as the spinless modular bootstrap in two dim
ensions. This method extends the conformal bootstrap to the regime of larg
e central charge which is relevant to three-dimensional gravity. The same
method applies to the sphere packing problem and gives new bounds on the p
acking density in high dimensions. I will talk about these new bounds and
give a summary of existing bounds. I will also talk about bootstrapping fo
ur-point functions on a plane by using the fast bootstrap method.\n
