DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/OARS/50/">Ma
ximal modulations of singular Radon transforms</a>\nby Lars Becker (Bonn)
as part of OARS Online Analysis Research Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nCarleson's
theorem on the convergence of Fourier series is\nequivalent to the weak-$
L^2$-boundedness of the maximally modulated\nHilbert transform\, and adapt
ions of the proof show more generally\nweak-$L^2$-boundedness of maximally
modulated Calderón-Zygmund operators.\nThis talk is about the open probl
em of whether this result can be extended\nto singular Radon transforms\,
such as the Hilbert transform along the\nparabola $H_P$. I will discuss th
e main ingredients used in the proof of\nCarleson's theorem\, and to what
extent they can be adapted for $H_P$. A\ncorollary are improved quantitati
ve estimates for maximal modulations of\noperators approximating $H_P$.\n
