DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/NSCM/90/">On
Application of Finite Element Method for Fluid-Structure-Acoustic Interac
tions Related to Human Phonation Process</a>\nby Petr Sváček (Faculty of
Mechanical Engineering\, CTU) as part of Nečas Seminar on Continuum Mech
anics\n\nLecture held in Room K3\, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics\, C
harles University\, Sokolovská 83 Prague 8..\n\nAbstract\nHuman voice is
created by a complex process consisting of mutual\ninteractions of flowin
g air\, vibrating vocal folds and the sound propagation\nthrough the vocal
tract. The fundamental sound is created by the mutual\ninteraction of the
flowing air with vibrations of vocal folds(VFs). The\narising fundamenta
l sound is enriched by aeroacoustic sound sources and\npropagated through
the vocal tract. In this talk\, mathematical models of a\nsimplified fluid
-structure-acoustic interaction problem shall be\,\nnumerically discretize
d and numerical results will be presented. In\nparticular the deformation
of an elastic body representing the model of\nvocal folds will be consider
ed in the interaction with the complex fluid\nflow and aeroacoustics. In p
articular the attention will be paid to several\nimportant issues of such
a modelling as the inclusion of the VFs contact\,\nchoice of suitable boun
dary conditions\, the influence of pre-stressed vocal\nfold on the fundame
ntal frequency\, etc. For the flow model the realization\nof the variation
al multiscale method is discussed. The numerical\napproximation of the pro
blem is presented and numerical results are shown.\n
