DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/NSCM/31/">Co
ntinuum-fracture approach to modelling crystalline rock</a>\nby Jan Březi
na (TU Liberec) as part of Nečas Seminar on Continuum Mechanics\n\n\nAbst
ract\nWe start with a statistical description of the fracture networks in
real (crystalline) rocks and related heterogeneous material properties. Ne
xt\, we shall present continuum-fracture (CF) approach to the description
of the processes in real rock. CF description has been consistently applie
d in the Flow123d simulator of THMC proceses. We will summarize simulated
processes\, numerical schemes\, and software tools. Finally\, we present p
articular applications in the safety of deep nuclear waste repositories an
d the efficiency of enhanced geothermal systems.\n
