DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/NSCM/216/">N
umerical simulations of hemodynamics and hemolysis</a>\nby Tomáš Bodnár
(Department of Technical Mathematics\, Czech Technical University in Pra
gue) as part of Nečas Seminar on Continuum Mechanics\n\nLecture held in R
oom K3\, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics\, Charles University\, Sokolo
vská 83 Prague 8..\n\nAbstract\nThe development of blood contacting devi
ces\, such as Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) became one of the most chal
lenging tasks in modern bioengineering. The models of blood rheology\, str
ess- and strain- based models of hemolysis\, models of turbulence need to
be solved at high resolution in complex geometries. The talk will present
an overview of our current work in design of computational test case for V
AD development and some of the recent results on combining the models of v
iscoelastic rheology with strain based models of hemolysis. This is a part
of an ongoing joint work with Anna Lancmanova\, Nico Dirkes\, Alberto Gir
elli\, Adelia Sequeira and Giulia Giantesio.\n
