 e deals with application of a new Newton-type method to the numerical solu
 tion of discrete 3D contact problems\nwith Coulomb friction. This method s
 uits well to the solution of inclusions and the resulting conceptual algor
 ithm exhibits\,\nunder appropriate conditions\, the local superlinear conv
 ergence. After a description of the method a new (primal) model\nfor the c
 onsidered contact problem\, amenable to the application of the new method\
 , will be presented. The second part of\nthe talk is then devoted to an ef
 ficient implementation of the general algorithm and to numerical tests. Th
 roughout the whole\nlecture\, various tools of modern variational analysis
  will be employed.\n
