 nPossible variants of deep geological repository will be introduced. Selec
 ted\nengineering problems connected with the deep repositories will be sum
 marized\nand the appropriate mathematical models and numerical methods for
  their\nsolution will be described. The first problem is heat transfer cau
 sed by the\nradioactive waste in steel-based containers of length about 5 
 meters. The\nsizes of studied domain are approximately one kilometer and t
 he investigated\nperiod is thousands of years long. A combination of suita
 ble numerical\nmethods has to be used in order to finish the numerical sim
 ulations in\nreasonable time. The second problem is thermo-hydro-mechanica
 l (THM)\nanalysis of a system container-bentonite layer-surrounding rock m
 assif. It\nis based on the balance equation of momentum\, mass and energy 
 together with\nvarious constitutive relationships. The THM analysis is for
 mulated for 2D\nand 3D.\n
