 -gradient plasticity model obtained as\n$\\Gamma$-limit of a nonlinear fin
 ite dislocation model characterised by\na multiple-well potential and a si
 ngular perturbation term accounting\nfor the divergence of the strain fiel
 d. The analysis builds upon a new\nquantitative rigidity estimate for inco
 mpatible fields in presence of a\nmultiwell elastic energy\, showing that 
 the $L^{1^{*}}$-distance of a\nstrain field from a single well is controll
 ed in terms of the\n$L^{1^{*}}$-distance from a finite set of wells\, of c
 url $\\beta$\, and\nof ${\\rm div} \\beta$. This is a joint work with Dari
