  interplay between elastic deformations and electrostatic capacitance for 
 charged elastic materials. We consider a variational model\, where electro
 elastic energy involves coupling elastic response and electrostatics using
  a capacitary term naturally defined in Eulerian coordinates. The ensuing 
 electroelastic energy is then of mixed Lagrangian-Eulerian type. We study 
 the continuity properties of the capacitary terms under the convergence of
  the deformations and prove the existence of minimizers.\n
