 8..\n\nAbstract\nWe discuss the linearization of finite elasticity by mean
 s of Gamma-convergence for the case of pure traction problems. For hyperel
 astic bodies subject to equilibrated force fields\, the limit energy can b
 e different from the global energy of linear elasticity subject to the sam
 e force field. However\, under a suitable curl constraint\, we show that t
 he linear elastic equilibrium can be obtained as limit of local minimizers
  of finite elasticity. This is joint work with Roberto Ognibene and Danilo
  Percivale.\n
