  alterfold theory to study entanglement entropy. We illustrate these insig
 hts by computing the entanglement entropy for thermal quantum pure states 
 on surface codes\nat finite temperature. Furthermore\, we propose an entan
 glement rank conjecture for thermal quantum pure states on generalized Lev
