Iterated Eisenstein integrals are another class of per iods given as iterated integrals of Eisenstein series along the imaginary axis on the upper half plane. In this talk we sketch a result proving that all MZVs can be expressed as rational linear combinations of iterated Eis enstein integrals by interpreting both classes as periods of fundamental g roups. As a corollary we obtain a new generator for the category of mixed Tate motives over the integers. This work is part of the speaker's PhD the sis\, supervised by F.
