DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/IFTWeb/45/">
Fermionic Dark Matter Profiles</a>\nby Carlos Arguelles (UNLP\, La Plata)
as part of IFT-Madrid Webinars\n\n\nAbstract\nWe discuss the problem of da
rk matter halos\, by assuming a quantum fermionic\nparticle as the buildin
 g block for the DM component\, each of which\nself-gravitates in a quasi-v
irialized system of collisionless fermions. We\nshow that DM fermions acco
unting for the Pauli-principle and particle escape\neffects in the coarse-
grained phase-space distribution at relaxation\, can\nlead to a more gener
al density profile which developes a degenerate-core\nsurrounded by a dilu
ted-halo able to reproduce the galaxy rotation curves.\nInterestingly\, su
ch\nvery dense nucleus of dark matter at the center of the DM halo\, can m
imic\nthe effects of a central black hole\, or eventually collapse to form
one. In\nthe case of our Galaxy\, we show that the dense DM core can prod
uce similar\ngravitational effects than the putative massive BH centered i
 n SgrA*\, for\nparticle masses m ~ 10 -100 keV. The formation mechanism\,
stability\, and\nother astrophysical and cosmological consequences of such
novel fermionic\nprofiles will be discussed as well.\n
