 he current mismatch between\nprecise SM predictions and experimental measu
 rements in top quark\nproduction. I will discuss how future colliders may 
 test the top quark at\nthe highest energies\, searching for evidence of ne
 w forces in Nature\, or\nsubstructure of this particle\, hitherto consider
 ed pointlike and elementary.\nI will present an example of how machine lea
 rning can be of great help in\nthis endeavour.\n
