DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/IFTWeb/36/">
Direct detection window to light new physics</a>\nby David Cerdeno (IFT Ma
drid) as part of IFT-Madrid Webinars\n\n\nAbstract\nIn order to search for
dark matter with increased sensitivity\, the new\ngeneration of direct de
tection experiments will soon be operational with an\nincreased target siz
e (e.g. LZ with approximately 5 tons of LXe) and lower\nexperimental thres
holds (e.g. SuperCDMS in the high-voltage operation mode).\nWhile these fe
atures will certainly help further narrowing down the\nparameter space of
weakly-interacting massive particles\, they also offer the\npossibility of
probing less canonical candidates for dark matter\, as well as\nother typ
es of new physics in the neutrino sector. In this talk I will\nreview the
different possibilities that this offers\, including a recent\nexample fro
 m 2006.11225\, in which a light mediator in a gauged\nU(1)(L\\mu-L\\tau) c
ould explain the discrepancy in the muon anomalous\nmagnetic moment.\n
