 dentity of dark matter. In this talk\, I will\nfocus on light dark matter.
  From the theory side\, I will discuss new\ntheoretical developments that 
 suggest light dark matter. From the\nexperimental side\, I will present ne
 w proposals for the direct\ndetection of light dark matter which hold much
  promise. These include\nthe use of superconducting nanowires\, two-dimens
 ional targets such as\ngraphene\, and Dirac materials. Considering dark ma
 tter interactions\nwith these targets\, I will demonstrate the potential o
 f the light dark\nmatter direct detection program in upcoming years.\n
