 >Cosmic superstrings in the early universe</a>\nby Joseph Patrick Conlon (
University of Oxford) as part of High Energy Theory NYU Abu Dhabi\n\nLectu
re held in NYU Abu Dhabi Computational Research Building.\n\nAbstract\nThe
superstrings of string theory could — possibly — exist as macroscopic
physical strings that stretch throughout the universe. I review the physi
cs of cosmic superstrings and describe recent results on the behaviour of
superstrings where the tension varies in time. Such behaviour is common in
string theory models of the early universe. In particular\, there exists
an attractor solution with three-quarters of the energy density of the uni
verse in the form of superstrings\, which could have been realised in the
early universe between the epochs of inflation and nucleosynthesis.\n
