DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/HET/59/">Cos
mic Surveys and the Quantum Universe</a>\nby Daniel Green (UCSD) as part o
 f Purdue HET\n\nLecture held in Room 242.\n\nAbstract\nUnderstanding the q
uantum nature of accelerating cosmologies is essential to making sense of
the past\, present\, and future of our Universe. One important quantity re
levant to the dynamics of these epoches is the spectrum of quantum fluctua
tions\, organized by scaling dimensions that control how these fluctuation
s redshift away. When these fluctuations are coupled to the inflaton in t
he early universe\, this scaling behavior appears in the statistics of the
density fluctuations and can be measured with galaxy surveys. Remarkably\
, self-consistency of these late universe observations with the symmetries
of the early universe place non-trivial constraints on both the dynamics
of inflation and the statistics of galaxies. In this talk\, I will explain
how these connections arise\, what they can tell us about the Universe\,
and the current constraints and future prospects for measuring these dimen
 sions with cosmic surveys.\n
