DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/HET/36/">An
Algebra of Observables for de Sitter Space</a>\nby Keiichiro Furuya (Purdu
 e University) as part of Purdue HET\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will r
eview the latest paper\, ``An Algebra of Observables for de Sitter Space
’’. Since Bekenstein studied the entropy associated with the black ho
le\, the studies of the entropic structure of a system with gravity have b
een developed. Especially\, the (entanglement) entropy of a quantum system
of two different regions is important to explore the correlations in a sy
stem. In a quantum mechanical system\, the (entanglement) entropy is a pr
operty of the states of a given system. In quantum field theory\, it is in
stead the property of the algebra of quantum field theory associated with
a subregion of spacetime\, which we now call the local algebra. In particu
lar\, the ultraviolet divergence is due to the property of the local algeb
ra. Hence\, understanding the entropic structure of quantum field theory r
equires you to investigate the structure of a local algebra. This paper sp
ecifies the properties of the local algebra of quantum field theory in de
Sitter space to seek its entropy.\n
