DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/HET/16/">The
Eigenstate Thermalization Hypothesis in JT gravity with matter</a>\nby Da
vid Kolchmeyer (Harvard University) as part of Purdue HET\n\n\nAbstract\nI
will discuss ongoing efforts to find a two-matrix model dual to JT gravit
y coupled to a free massive scalar field that admits an interpretation in
terms of the Eigenstate Thermalization Hypothesis (ETH). The two Hermitian
matrices\, H and O\, represent the boundary Hamiltonian and the boundary
operator dual to the bulk scalar field. The gravitational path integral im
plies that the matrix elements of O in the H eigenbasis obey a certain con
straint. We use this constraint to make a conjecture about the form of the
matrix model potential. This conjecture can be tested using a q-deformati
on of JT gravity with matter. This talk is based on work in progress with
 Daniel Jafferis\, Baur Mukhametzhanov\, and Julian Sonner.\n
