DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/Geolis/177/"
 >Stability of 4-dimensional shrinking Ricci solitons</a>\nby Tristan Ozuch
(Massachusetts Institute of Technology) as part of Geometria em Lisboa (I
ST)\n\n\nAbstract\nDimension 4 is the next horizon for applications of Ric
ci flow to topology\, where the main goal is to understand the topological
operations that Ricci flow generically performs at singular times. Shrink
ing Ricci solitons model these topological operations\, and only the stabl
e ones should arise generically.\n\n\n\nI will present recent joint works
with Olivier Biquard and Keaton Naff that determine the stability of all o
f the currently known shrinking Ricci solitons in dimension 4. The argumen
ts use structural features unique to dimension four\, in particular self-d
 uality.\n
