 r reviewing the notion of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of a finitely gen
 erated graded module over a polynomial ring with coefficients in a field\,
  some history and known results will be discussed regarding the regularity
  of ideals associated to subspace arrangements and the connections with th
 eir Hilbert functions. The subject of second talk will be recent results o
 btained together with Aldo Conca\, which improve the bound of Derksen & Si
 dman (2002) for arrangements of generic linear spaces in projective space 
 of codimension at least 2.\n
